I often times find myself sitting on my front porch thinking about how things used to be and how I’d hope to experience them again. Then I always hear God speak to my heart and tell me to run after what I want. So I run after it and remember to always let Him guide my path to it. I also sit and think and understand just how blessed I am. I can look around and see simply that Gods been good to me. Gods really changed my outlook on life.

Are you giving thanks in every circumstance? This might seem like a stretch at first, especially when you are going through a season of difficulty. But notice today’s verse doesn’t say to give thanks “for” everything, it says give thanks “in” everything. In other words, no matter what’s going on, find something to be thankful for. Don’t just focus on what’s wrong in your life; focus on what God will do in your life.

When you are thankful, it opens the door for God to move on your behalf. That’s why it says “this is God’s will for you.” He wants you to be close to Him to receive His strength and power by giving thanks. That’s why we should always have the attitude that says, “God, in spite of what’s happened, I choose to be grateful. I may be sick, but Father, thank You for being my healer. Thank you for giving me great friends and family.” Or, “I may be struggling in my marriage, but God, thank You for being my restorer. Thank You for giving me another sunrise.” As you give thanks in everything, you will see God’s hand move mightily on your behalf, and you’ll come out of that difficulty better, stronger and wiser than before.

When you make a mistake, unfortunately, the critics and naysayers come out of the woodwork. People will tell you, “You’re all washed up. It’s too late.” If you wear that label, it will keep you from the amazing future God has in store. God says, “My mercy is bigger than any mistake.” God says, “I can still get you to your destiny.” God says, “I will give you beauty for those ashes. I’ll pay you back double for the unfair things that have happened.” You wouldn’t be alive unless God had another victory in your future. Why don’t you take off the “washed up” label? Take off the “failure,” “guilty,” “condemned” labels and put on some new labels: redeemed, restored, forgiven, bright future, new beginning.

I believe that God has already preserved a growing christian partner for me. So, I do not need to rush things. I simply have to wait for the time God had set for the two of us. It actually excites me everyday. The sweetest thing we will do is worship our God together. Surely, that day will be one of the best days in our lives.

So, I will patiently wait for that God given-partner. Someone I can truly love, cherish and adore. Someone I can laugh and cry with at the same time. Someone I can share my greatest trials and sufferings.

Above all, someone I can be with and grow with, in my walk with God!
